Tomodachi knives are made by Hampton Forge. The company has been around for quite some time and makes a variety of knives and flatware under the Tomodachi brand name.

Overall Review of Tomodachi Rainbow Titanium Set :

We’ve been using this set of colored knives for a while, and it’s cut well for us.

Over time the blades have begun to become dull knives. This is expected over time. The blades need to be sharpened, but we need to get sharpening steel to do that. This comes to the first issue.

The disappointment comes from the knife’s paint flaking. For the price, it’s a good knife set (it’s hard to find a set this affordable). But to be fair, we put the knives in the dishwasher, and that could be the reason for the paint beginning to flake a bit.

Another thing is it really is a 5 piece knife set, calling it 10 pieces because the knife covers part of the set. This is industry practice, I guess, but I find it misleading.

Still, you buy these knives because they look cool and are fun. Still, it would have been nice to have steak knives with the set or some single knife choices, like a bread knife.

The knives themselves are pretty good, especially for the price. The blade guard on the handle makes it easy to hold, and our kids are able to use them fairly well.

Are Tomodachi knives dishwasher safe?

They are dishwasher safe, but it is best to hand wash any type of knife and immediately dry it to avoid rust and corrosion. If you want your knives to last longer, always hand wash them. We’ve found this to be the case with stainless steel knives. We made the mistake of putting our Henckel steak knives in the dishwasher and they came out with corrosion spots.

What is the Tomodachi knife warranty?

These Hampton Forge knives come with a 25-year warranty.

Other options for Tomodachi knives

If you aren’t completely sold on the idea of Tomodachi knives, there are other options. There are many sets you can get for a decent price. Our Best Knife Set Under $100 post has knife sets that start under $50 and will do a great job, some even have a knife block at that price, which is a real bargain.

Are Tomodachi knives good?

We’ve been using the earlier brand of these titanium-coated kitchen knives (they are solid color rather than rainbow) for a year now, and they have held up really well. You would expect them to be since they are made with stainless steel. They cut well, and if it weren’t for the flaking of the pain, you could label me a satisfied customer.

They each come with their individual sheath, and as far as normal knives go, they do the trick. There is no chef knife or bread knife, which would have been useful, but the all-purpose knife is designed to make up for it.

If you are looking for an affordable and fun-looking set of knives. These Hampton Forge knives fit the bill. It’s a quick and easy way to refresh your knife drawer.
